Job Specifics

Duties Description Under the direction of the Director of Road Testing, the Upstate Road Testing Coordinator oversees four Road Testing Units (Albany, Buffalo, Rochester and Utica).

***Location TBD - The incumbent may be located in and report to any of the four Road Testing Unit office locations***

Some of the tasks of the Coordinator include, but are not limited to:

• Supervise the Principal Motor Vehicle License Examiners (PMVLEs) of the four RTU units
• Assist with development and implementation of new policies and procedures
• Work with various stakeholders (ex. local, state, and federal agencies; vendors, industry partners, and unions)
• Assist with acquiring and maintaining road test sites
• Ensure efficient use of staff and road test sites
• Ensure CDL testing is in compliance with federal regulations
• Ensure staff have the necessary uniforms and equipment
• Ensure staff is properly trained
• Assist with personnel issues
• Assist with staff hiring

Minimum Qualifications To be eligible for this position, you must meet one of the following conditions:

1. Eligible for appointment from the Motor Vehicle Office Manager, G-23 eligible list

2. In a Motor Vehicle Office Manager, G-23 title eligible for reassignment

3. In a G-21 or higher title that meets criteria for 70.1 or 52.6 transfer

Additional Comments Hours of the position will be discussed at the time of interview, including questions regarding Flextime, AWS/Compressed work week and Telecommuting.
