Job Specifics
Duties Description NYSIF is seeking a Customer Service Program Specialist 1 to oversee the Assistant Insurance Fund Services Representatives in the Disability Benefits (Underwriting) Department.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Developing and facilitating training for AIFSR staff.
• Creating and maintaining policies and procedures.
• Managing work assignments.
• Handling complex matters.
• Performing routine audits of work completed, as well as involvement in department projects and initiatives.
• Responsible for the review of internal and external customer interactions, especially in cases where issues have reached critical incident levels and will report to a manager in the DB (Underwriting) Department.
Minimum Qualifications • Six years of business experience, including four years of customer service experience; OR
• An associate’s degree and four years of business experience, including two years of customer service experience; OR
• A bachelor’s degree and two years of customer service experience; OR
• A master’s degree or Juris Doctor (JD) and one year of customer service experience.
Additional Comments For new State employees appointed to graded positions, the annual salary is the hiring rate (beginning of the Salary Range) of the position. Promotion salaries are calculated by the NYS Office of the State Comptroller in accordance with NYS Civil Service Law, OSC Payroll rules and regulations and negotiated union contracts.
