Minimum Qualifications Current New York State employee with one year or more of permanent, contingent-permanent, or 55b/c service as a Assistant Engineer (Civil/Construction); OR current New York State employee with one year or more of permanent, contingent-permanent or 55b/c service in a position allocated to a salary grade 20 and eligible for transfer under Section 70.1* as appropriate of the Civil Service Law.

Proof of passing the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES) Fundamentals in Engineering (FE) exam is required.

Duties Description Duties include but may not be limited to:
• Supervise and inspect building construction projects of moderate size and complexity.
• Coordinate the operations of contractors and ensure conformity of work to contract estimates, specifications, standards and construction practices.
• Assist higher level staff on larger projects.
• Recommend and prepare contract change orders.
• May supervise consultant work.
• Some travel required. projects.

Additional Comments Location Pay: $3,026
