Minimum Qualifications Must be physically able to perform all duties of the position. This includes the ability to carry a 40 pound backpack in adverse terrain and weather conditions.
Preferred qualifications: Possession of a New York State driver's license.

Duties Description Candidate will be responsible for working with assistant land surveyor in maintaining state land boundaries, including painting, posting and clearing boundary lines. Will be responsible for keeping field notes and tracking daily progress.

This is a field position and the candidate should expect to be in the field most days. The job entails re-painting blazed trees that mark the boundary lines. Steep terrain and thick vegetation can be encountered on a daily basis.

Additional Comments Must be able to negotiate difficult terrain, work in remote areas and in adverse weather conditions. Must be able to lift and move objects up to 40 pounds. These are seasonal, hourly appointments with an anticipated end date of 3/31/19. Program needs and funding will determine actual termination date, which may be prior to dates listed in duties description. Actual work schedule, duties, and travel requirements may vary and will be discussed at the interview.
