QUALIFICATIONS
Preferred candidates must have strong interpersonal, problem solving, decision-making, organizational and time management skills as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work on multiple assignments, including budget development for grant applications; NYS Department of Health (DOH) fiscal, procurement, contract management experience with the Statewide Financial System (SFS), including initiating grant purchase orders and processing vouchers; and proficiency in the use of Microsoft Suite tools including Word and Excel. Duties will also include a broad range of administrative skills and experience including but not limited to assisting with personnel and/or operational transactions.
Duties Description The Health Program Administrator (HPA) will be responsible for processing contracts and related vouchers and will participate in annual contractor site visits; drafting letters and other documents related to the contracting process; reviewing funding proposals for accuracy and validity; making funding recommendations; and assisting in the development of budgets and other fiscal information for grant applications; assisting in recruiting new staff and processing personnel transactions for existing staff; tracking progress of multiple tasks and report to Bureau and DOH Executive Management as requested; assisting with administrative tasks, operational activities, and other Bureau tasks as needed. Additional responsibilities may include maintaining office space and equipment and identifying, purchasing and maintaining supply and equipment needs.
Additional Comments Permanent, full-time. Occasional travel within New York State, including overnights and to locations that may not be served by public transportation, is required.
