Minimum Qualifications Permanent service in this title, or one year of permanent competitive service or 55-b/c service in a title SG-4 or higher and otherwise eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law. Candidates eligible for 55-b/c appointment are also eligible to apply.



Duties Description The Office Assistant 1 (Stores/Mail) will perform the following duties:

• Filling and delivering supply orders to staff and obtaining authorized signature for receipt of supplies for tracking purposes;
• Receiving all packages delivered to DCJS staff via the building dock area, including instrument drop-offs by law enforcement agencies for maintenance, and delivering to the appropriate office;
• Processing shipping forms for agency staff following USPS, FedEx and UPS procedures;
• Receiving, storing and distributing supplies, equipment and furniture;
• Maintaining and updating inventory records for supplies, publications and DCJS forms in NeoTrac (a computerized system);
• Tracking all receiving and delivering of purchased items utilizing NeoTrac;
• Working with agency staff to resolve discrepancies and locate items using NeoTrac;
• Placing stock items on designated shelving areas;
• Keeping the warehouse organized and clean;
• Repairing office furniture;
• Operating pallet jacks;
• Other duties, as needed; and
• Due to the nature of this position, some heavy lifting may be required.

Additional Comments The position may involve local travel, therefore, candidates with a driver’s license are preferred.
