Minimum Qualifications Five or more years of experience in an architectural/engineering role, consolidate backup data and function across multiple backup solutions. This experience must include expert level support of the following products:

• CommVault Simpana

• IBM TSM

• IBM Protectier

• EMC Avamar Backup and Recovery

• HP StoreOnce

The following degrees, preferably in Computer Science, may substitute for the general experience as indicated:

• Associate’s degree and four years of experience

• Associate’s degree including 15 semester credit hours in computer science and three years of experience

• Bachelor’s degree and three years of experience

• Bachelor’s degree including 15 semester credit hours in computer science and two years of experience

• Master’s degree in computer science or related field substitutes for an additional year of experience

• Doctorate in computer science or related field substitutes for an additional 2 years of experience

Preferred Qualifications:

In addition to the technical background, the ideal candidate will have:

• The ability to work independently and as a team member in a shared resource environment.

• Five or more years of experience with support of systems related to Criminal Justice processing.

Duties Description Under the direction of an Information Technology Specialist 4, SG-25, within the Chief Operations Office (COO) Data Center Hosting in Albany, NY, the Project Coordinator will be a backup administrator within the DCH Backup and Recovery service area.
Specific duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Manage various backup service related projects and initiatives.

• Interface with DCC project managers to facilitate the completion of backup related tasks.

• Provide complete technical application monitoring and support for the Backup/Recovery data protection enterprise level infrastructure.

• Problem Resolution, including all levels of break/fix problem solving for daily backup failures with software, hardware and media. This function also involves escalation and collaborations with other groups for problem resolution and closure. 7x24 call escalation support is covered under this role as well. Problem tracking and management are handled through the Enterprise IT Service Management System application.

• Provide complete backup application installations, upgrades, configurations and recovery functions. The incumbent will utilize the CommVault, IBM Tivoli Storage Management and EMC Avamar application; UNIX & Windows based OS’s to perform this key function for this group.

• Interact closely with our customers to handle multiple user requests for installs, de-installs, archive and restore request on a daily basis. This role requires the ability to multi task and follow through several tasks for requested completion. These requests are assigned through the Enterprise IT Service Management System application.

• Execute duties related to the management and project execution; facilitate work prioritization based on business and technology needs; and manage relationships across technical support groups and vendors.

• Perform all areas of media processing, including the oversight of media movement to and from our offsite location, ensuring available media requirements for backup processing are met, media cataloging, tracking and disposal.

• Provide call escalation support.
