Minimum Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A bachelor's degree or higher in agriculture, animal science, biochemistry, biology, chemical engineering, chemistry, environmental sciences, food science, genetics, microbiology, molecular biology, medical science, natural resources, public health, veterinary science or zoology plus two years of professional experience working in a governmental, private or academic laboratory performing biological or chemical analysis, OR a master's or higher degree plus one year of professional experience. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: A bachelor's degree or higher in chemistry and qualifying experience.
Duties Description The incumbent will analyze food samples for compliance and Federal regulations; maintain records of analysis and prepare reports of analytical results; understand basic principles of instrument/detection operation. The incumbent will perform routine maintenance on instruments and maintain log book; adhere to the method SOPs and the SOPs in the IOS Quality Manuel recently written to meet the ISO standard; maintain GLP and QA for current chemical methodology; address problems and initiate correct action to insure an efficient and professional work environment and contribute to general order, appearance and safety of the laboratory.
