Minimum Qualifications Must be at least 16 years of age; Possess current certification in American Red Cross Lifeguard Training or equivalent; Possess current certification in the American Red Cross Waterfront Module or equivalent; Possess current certification in American Red Cross CPR for the professional rescuer or equivalent; and Successfully complete a practical examination administered by DEC or OPRHP in lifesaving and CPR skills.

Duties Description o Jobs duties will include overall care and maintenance of the assigned beach area.
o Will be required to work weekends and holidays.
o Will be required to do manual work in beach area, such as lifting garbage cans chest high, using rakes and shovels, and cleaning.
o Must be able to speak clearly and communicate with the camping public, coworkers.
o Must be willing and able to read and understand the Campground Waterfront Operations Manual and perform all assigned functions defined within.
o Will be required to communicate any issues with supervisor and complete assignments with high consideration for the safety of the employee and others.
o Will be required to operate a personal computer for time and attendance submittal.

Additional Comments Overtime may be required. Weekends and holidays may be required.

Multiple summer Lifeguard positions available at NYS DEC Campgrounds. Work schedule and hours vary by location.
Possible work locations include: AuSable Point, Fish Creek Ponds, Lincoln Pond, and Meacham Lake Campgrounds
