Duties Description • Organize and assist in establishment office procedures for the Pest Management Unit.

• Maintain and update general, personnel, enforcement, certification and aquatic files.

• Greet and assist public and regulated community; answer telephone; respond and provide program information to the public; direct messages to PCSs or other program units.

• Open, date stamp, read, prioritize and distribute mail to appropriate staff, and respond directly to program inquiries as well as being able explain complex regulatory requirements to the regulated community.

• Maintain revenues and expenditures for the Region 7 Pest Management office as well as maintain ledger and receipts collected from pesticide applicator certification examination fees, certification fees, aquatic permit fees and program fines; preparation of bank deposits; and Abstracts of Receipts. Ability to conduct State Financial System (SFS) transactions.

• Maintain calendar tracking schedules, meetings and appointments for program staff, pesticide applicator certification examinations and aquatic permits.

• Assist PCS 2 in issuing Notices of Violation, Warning Letters, and Orders on Consent; and assist with tracking enforcement activities within the Region.

• Compile and maintain information for Central Office.

• Make travel arrangements. Enter expenses report and travel advance data for program staff, submit to supervisor for approval/disapproval, review; approve and voucher.

• Order and inventory forms and supplies/equipment for Pest Management unit.

• Operate computer, printer, photocopier, calculator, fax machine, and typewriter to complete tasks. Create and run computer programs for data collection required by program staff.

• Ability to use or learn Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Adobe Pro, and all associated department programs.

• Preparation of enforcement actions as prescribed by the PCS 2 or PCS 3

• Administration of Pesticide Applicator Exam Sessions and maintenance of regional exam database. The Program Aide will be available to give certification exams at all R7 offices as well as remote testing locations as needed requiring the ability to drive a state vehicle as needed.

• The Program Aide may be called upon to assist in routine enforcement initiatives that require travel throughout the state. The Program Aide may be required to compile inspections at these events as well as drafting enforcement documents. These events do encounter travel and overtime.

• Responsiveness to regulated community through program requirements without oversight and continual supervision.

• Provides liaison with various agency sections and State, local, and federal agencies.

• Future support to program needs as regional requirements evolve to encompass multi-regional boundaries.

Additional Comments Must have valid driver's license or demonstrate the ability to meet the transportation needs of the position. Travel and overtime may be required. Weekends and holidays may be required.
