Minimum Qualifications Two years of experience in maintenance or mechanical work under the supervision of a skilled trades-worker or completion of an appropriate two-year technical school course. Must possess a driver's license valid to drive in New York State.

Duties Description Employee will work on infrastructure and facilities at campgrounds, boat launches, flood control and recreational facilities, road systems, foot trails, as well as ground repair and maintenance. Experience in all phases of building trades, heavy equipment operation and a CDL are a plus. Working knowledge of safety standards and procedures. Ability to climb ladders and work on heights on scaffolds and platforms. Will operate a chainsaw and must be able to successfully complete our chainsaw safety training course within 60 days of appointment. Must be able to operate a vehicle with standard shift transmission. Will operate heavy machinery such as backhoes and bulldozers and must be able to load, unload, and trailer same in a safe and efficient manner. Candidates will perform routine repairs and maintenance on equipment. Must demonstrate ability to work independently with little or no direction. May be required to oversee small projects and supervise one or more personnel in completing routine job assignments. Might not be assigned the same job start location each day. Should expect to be assigned anywhere in the working circle during work days.

Additional Comments Must have valid driver's license or demonstrate the ability to meet the transportation needs of the position. Must be able to negotiate difficult terrain and work in remote areas and adverse weather conditions. Must be available to respond to after- hour’s emergencies. Must be able to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds.Experience working at public or recreational facilities a plus. Funding for this position is secured through 03/31/18, with a possibility of continuing after that date.
