Minimum Qualifications Must possess one year of practical experience in performing general construction or maintenance tasks. Must have and maintain a valid driver's license. Experience supervising or leading a project or crew and experience working in recreational or public facilities preferred.
Duties Description This is a working supervisor, supervising a crew of 2-6 staff. Must be able to use tool of the trades in a safe and effective manner including self-propelled and heavy equipment, a large variety of hand and power tools; have the ability to understand, follow and provide to others oral and written instructions; ability to perform medium to heavy physical labor. Must have basic knowledge of the Vehicle & Traffic Law as it applies to the safe and legal operation of the assigned equipment. Performs routine repair & maintenance of equipment; Orally instructs crews in the activities & tasks to be performed, answers their questions/concerning work procedures. Personally observes work to ensure adherence to instructions, guidelines,& schedules. Keeps written records of work performed and materials and labor used. Will be required to operate a chain saw. Must be (or become) chainsaw certified within 60 days.

Depending on funding and the needs of the Department, the actual length of appointment may vary. Must have a valid driver's license. Must be able to work in adverse weather conditions.
