Minimum Qualifications EDUCATION & REQUIREMENTS:
Education Level required: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, or equivalent experience.
Relevant experience required: 3+ years of experience performing financial analysis and/or underwriting commercial loans.
Knowledge required: The ideal candidate will have sufficient knowledge to independently analyze/spread financial statements and draft concise analyses of credit. This will include knowledge of financial accounting; strong analytic abilities; facility with financial modeling; and excellent written and oral communication skills. Strong Excel skills required.

Duties Description BASIC FUNCTION:
Provide administrative and project management support to the Managing Director and investment staff of New York State’s Venture Capital Investment Programs.
WORK PERFORMED:
Provide support to the fund’s staff in executing equity investments in New York-based high-technology start-up companies. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
General Administrative Tasks
•Scheduling meetings and reserving meeting space for all fund staff including recurring bi-weekly team meetings and monthly Investment Advisory Committee meetings
•Coordinating travel plans for fund personnel, obtaining approval for travel and filing for reimbursement of related expenses
•Assisting in the preparation of presentation materials for fund’s Investment Advisory Committee, ESD Board of Directors, ESD senior management, and outside audiences
•Assist in setting up and maintain filing and record keeping systems (both physical and electronic) for each of the group’s investment programs
•Handling departmental communications in a professional and courteous manner, taking accurate phone messages, responding to general inquiries, and directing information requests to the appropriate department or individual for further assistance
•Interface with vendors/service providers to ensure timely and accurate billing including the review of invoices and facilitating the payment process
•Demonstrate resourcefulness in setting priorities, Propose new ways of creating efficiencies
•Maintaining department supplies as necessary
Project Management Tasks
•Coordinate marketing activities including the maintenance of the NY Ventures website, preparation of press releases and sponsorship activity
•Assist in daily operational functions of fund-of-fund programs including reviewing input from investment managers, obtaining missing/incomplete information, and inputting information into relevant databases.
•Assist in the preparation and distribution of quarterly/annual program tracking and monitoring reports; collect and consolidate performance data; interface with internal and external stakeholders (as needed)
•Manage the fund disbursement process for the direct and fund-of-funds investment programs. Assemble the necessary documentation to authorize the funding process and work with Finance and Treasury departments to ensure timely transfers.
