Minimum Qualifications To be considered for permanent appointment, candidates must be reachable on the current Civil Service eligible list or be eligible for reassignment or transfer in accordance with Civil Service Law.

Duties Description The Office Assistant 1 will perform activities in support of the Employee Relations Bureau. Duties include, but not limited to:

• Sorting and distributing mail.
• Maintaining records and files.
• Answering telephones and appropriately responding to or referring inquiries to the appropriate representative.
• Maintaining department databases.
• Type memos/letters as requested by Director.
• Providing assistance to the Office Assistant 2 and 3 with updates to Employee Relations databases.
• Scanning and printing case files in preparation of interrogation.
• Taking meeting minutes and distributing them to staff, and other duties as requested.

Responsibilities may include serving a role within the Incident Command System to support the department’s response to regional and statewide emergency situations.
