Duties Description The State University of New York System Administration, located in Albany, New York, is seeking to hire several temporary employees for the position of Office Assistant 1 to help process undergraduate applications for admission. The duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
•Responsible for entering and verifying undergraduate student data submitted via electronic on-line and paper applications.
•Processing revisions received for applicant data.
•Keying payments to student records and releasing applications held for payment.
•Processing cash, check, and credit card payments.
•Evaluation of waiver forms to ensure completeness.
•Open, sort, and distribute mail as needed.
•Perform various clerical/data processing tasks including document scanning and uploading, faxing, photocopying and filing.
•Process supplemental application material; conducts searches on computer systems, distribute/upload materials to appropriate campuses while keeping accurate records.
•Communicate with applicants and schools via phone and/or email.
Additional Comments It is anticipated that overtime will be needed during peak season. These positions will be for a period of three to six months. Rate of pay is $12.25 per hour. These positions are benefits eligible.
Review of candidates will begin on August 18, 2017 and will continue until positions are filled.
