Minimum Qualifications A. Experience

Five (5) years of progressively responsible administrative, consultative or supervisory experience in a mental health program including one of the following:

1. One (1) year of satisfactory experience in a position comparable
to a Clinical Chief of Service (COS) or Director of Mental Health
Rehabilitation;

OR

2. Two (2) years of satisfactory experience in a position as
administrative head of a multi-disciplinary treatment team;

OR

3. Two (2) years of satisfactory supervisory, professional, or
administrative experience in the development, operation, and/or
implementation of the mental health service delivery system for
State facilities, counties, or local/private agencies in three (3) or
more of the following areas: program development,
management procedures, community organization, resource
planning, funding, program proposals, advisory boards,
consumer and community advocacy and intergovernmental
relations.

AND

B. Education

A Master's degree in a mental hygiene discipline (including physician assistant, occupational therapy, physical therapy, social work, speech pathology and audiology, communication disorders, psychology, recreation therapy, rehabilitation counseling, education, nursing), hospital administration, community mental health, business or public administration or other administrative area specifically related to health care, behavioral or social science from an accredited school; or a valid license to practice medicine in New York State or Canada. Current registration or licensure required where applicable.

Additionally, all candidates must be eligible to participate in Federal health care programs (e.g., Medicaid). Individuals excluded from participation in these programs will not be considered.

Duties Description The DDPC 2 Operations is an essential member of the facility’s Executive Management Team. Under the general direction of the Executive Director and in close collaboration with the Clinical Director, the DDPC 2 Operations is responsible for the direction and oversight of SPBC’s inpatient treatment services. The DDPC 2 Operations participates in the development, implementation, interpretation, and evaluation of facility goals and policies to ensure efficient and effective service delivery; oversees the admissions and discharge process to maintain facility census at optimum levels and to ensure that median length of stay does not exceed parameters set by OMH or facility policy; supervises, coordinates, and directs the activities of subordinate managers in administrative and operational program areas; monitors and oversees staffing, assignments and work schedules to ensure quality patient care; and ensures the maintenance of a safe and therapeutic treatment environment.

Additional Comments Salary:$128,643 - $161,809 plus $3,026 Location Pay

South Beach Psychiatric Center (SBPC), a 249 bed New York State operated, Joint Commission (TJC) accredited, and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) certified mental health facility located on the eastern shore of Staten Island, New York, is seeking a dynamic leader, with proven clinical and managerial experience in the field of mental health treatment, to fill the position of Deputy Director, Psychiatric Center 2 - Operations (DDPC 2 Operations). SBPC provides inpatient, community-based, residential, and specialized treatment services to adults and adolescents living in Brooklyn and Staten Island.
