Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's or higher level degree and five (5) years of experience in equal opportunity, human rights, or affirmative action programs which included responsibility for recruitment, training, and conducting investigations. Candidates must have experience working in a culturally diverse environment. Successful candidate must have excellent written and oral communication, human relations/interpersonal skills and excellent public speaking and presentation skills.
The candidate must demonstrate the ability to build consensus; work collaboratively with others in a constructive and collegial manner; ability to implement a strategic plan based on a shared vision; proactively identify and analyze issues in the workplace and implement solutions. Strong analytical skill and ability to analyze, interpret and manage data and demonstrated knowledge of current trends and thinking concerning diversity and inclusion preferred.
Duties Description The candidate selected for this position will report to the ITS Executive staff and be responsible for the Affirmative Action and Diversity Program within ITS, ensuring action plan and compliance with all related rules and laws. Specific duties will include, but are not limited to:
• Preparation and monitoring of agency's affirmative action plan, including periodic reviews and revisions;
• Investigate all internal discrimination and sexual harassment complaints;
• Investigate external complaints filed with the NYS Division of Human Rights and/or federal EEOC;
• Coordinate and participate in any compliance reviews;
• Provide training to staff on all pertinent affirmation action/diversity programs;
• Develop recruitment strategies to increase protected class representation in IT professional positions;
• Handle all requests for Reasonable Accommodations filed by employees or job applicants;
• May assist in the identification of MWBE programs and
• Ensure agency compliance with all laws, rules, regulations and Executive Orders related to affirmative action/diversity programs.
