Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field
At least 3 years of field experience
Documented experience in the field of machining/toolmaking (3 years minimum)
Documented experience in the field of hydraulic/pneumatic power systems (3 years minimum)
Ability to read/understand mechanical drawings/blueprints
Valid drivers license with acceptable driving record by time of appointment
Preferred Qualifications|
Master's degree in a relevant field, including but not limited to: Mechanical, Industrial, Production, and Education
CNC experience
Additional educational background/credentials and/or extensive field experience
5+ years of professional experience in a relevant field
2+ years of experience with electrical control systems
License in subject area, where applicable (P.E., etc.)
Prior teaching experience
Prior teaching at the collegiate level
Prior on-line course instruction
OSHA 30 Industrial certification
Experience teaching above-mentioned courses at the college level
Ability to engage in scholarly activities
Demonstrated ability to teach diverse populations
Understanding the value of civic engagement
Duties Description SUNY Delhi is seeking an instructor for its Mechatronics Design (two year AOS & AAS track) & Mechatronics Technology (2+2 BT track) programs. The successful candidate will be instrumental in the implementation of the newly restructured Mechatronics Design curriculum (formerly Computer Aided Drafting and Design/ CADD). Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: implementation of industry standards in curriculum coursework (ANSI, ASME, NEMA, ISO, IEC, etc.), and administering/proctoring certification examinations based on these standards. The successful candidate will have the ability to teach a variety of introductory and upper level courses in the mechanical design realm, focusing primarily on machining operations and hydraulic/pneumatic power systems, based on a thorough knowledge of 2D and 3D parametric design and simulation, industry standards and practices (ASME Y14.5, etc.), and relevant industrial experience. Special consideration will also be given to those candidates with additional skills related to automated production and process control systems, PLC system design, programming and troubleshooting, and associated electrical design and construction standards (NFPA 70 2014 or newer, etc.).
