Minimum Qualifications Minimum Qualifications
1. A completed PhD or ABD by 08/31/2018
2. Demonstrated evidence of teaching excellence & experience with undergraduate students
Preferred Qualifications
In addition to the aforementioned minimum qualifications, it is preferred the candidate also have:
1. A specialization in Health Psychology is strongly preferred
2. Evidence of student advising experience (club, research, internship)
3. Experience with internship site development and supervision (especially in Health / Community Psych)
4. Experience with course and program assessment and / or program development
5. History of research experience especially including supervising student researchers
6. Evidence of excellence in educating and mentoring a diverse group of learners
7. Experience with Health related initiatives in the campus community or surrounding community
Duties Description The Applied Psychology department at SUNY Cobleskill is seeking a candidate who is strongly committed to excellence in undergraduate teaching to join our faculty as an Assistant Professor in Health Psychology. The successful candidate will have a specialty in Health Psychology or a closely related discipline. He or she will teach a variety of courses at all levels of a Bachelor's program in Applied Psychology. Courses taught will include, but may not be limited to: general psychology, social psychology, health psychology, adolescent psychology, psychology of aging, as well as other courses developed to meet program needs.
Other duties for this position include advisement of psychology majors, cooperation in the enrichment and growth of the program, involvement in program, School, and College service, professional development, and supervision of interns.
