Minimum Qualifications 30 semester credit hours, including 12 semester credit hours in fisheries; marine resources or wildlife management; mariculture; marine biology; aquaculture; aquatic, marine or terrestrial ecology; zoology; marine technology; botany; limnology; hydrology; or oceanography.

Duties Description Assist permanent staff with stream and lake surveys including but not limited to stream and boat electro-fishing, seining, gill netting, trap netting and trawling. Work will also include fixing and repairing equipment and nets. Office work will include entering data into computer and data forms and also creating maps and shapefiles in GIS. Must be able to and willing to lift and carry 50 pounds, work nights, weekends and in inclement weather. Some over nights required. CPR/AED training, construction, GIS and other computer skills preferred.

Candidate will assist with rare fish programs in the Allegheny River basin. This will include sampling and data management for sauger, gilt darter, and paddlefish programs. Rare freshwater fish identification skills are highly preferred. Candidate could also be involved in freshwater mussel surveys.

Additional Comments Must have valid driver’s license or demonstrate the ability to meet the transportation needs of the position. Must be able to negotiate difficult terrain, work in remote areas and in adverse weather conditions. Travel and overtime may be required. Must be able to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds.

The anticipated end date of the position is 03/31/19. Program needs and funding will determine actual termination date.
