Salary RangeFrom $73284 to $92693 Annually
Minimum Qualifications One year of permanent competitive service in this title or a title eligible for transfer pursuant to Section 52.6 or 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.
Duties Description Responsibilities include becoming a master instructor in the NY Model, Crisis Prevention and Management (CPM), First Aid/CPR/AED, and providing ongoing support for Sanctuary Model for the Division of Juvenile Justice and Opportunities for Youth (DJJOY).
Work with facility directors to develop and implement training needs specific to their individual program needs.
Coach facility administrators and managers in the application/implementation of various training programs and supervisory skills.
Develop and conduct training for the DJJOY supervisory staff on coaching, real time corrections of CPM, documented instruction process, report writing to effectively critique staff in reporting on the use of force, basic supervisory skills such as delegating and counseling, and data collection for investigations.
May provide training to other staff, as needed. Responsible for supervising Training Specialist 1s and/or Assistant Training Technicians located in various facilities.
Extensive travel to offsite training sessions, including a five-week residential training program (if new to OCFS and/or have not already attended) and various mandatory in-service trainings held in Rensselaer, and other locations statewide, prior to assuming responsibilities is required.
