Minimum Qualifications Interested candidates must be currently reachable on the Information Technology Specialist 2 (SG-18) eligible list or eligible to transfer under Section 52.6 of the Civil Service Law.

Candidates must have one year of permanent, competitive service in a qualifying title allocated to salary grade 16 or higher.
Duties Description • Assist with the maintenance of the FileNet System
• Assist with the installation and configuration of FileNet software
• Assist with applying updates and patches to FileNet software
• Monitor FileNet system communication, performance, and usage
• Create and maintain system documentation
• Provide technical FileNet support to users, other administrators, and integrators/developers
• Troubleshoot FileNet system issues
• Deploy custom FileNet code
• Assist with loading of data into FileNet system
• Provide off hour support on a rotating basis.
• Assist with the maintenance of the DataCap, Capture and IBM Content Navigator
• Assist with the installation and configuration of software
• Assist with applying updates and patches to software
• Create and maintain system documentation
• Provide technical support to users, other administrators, and integrators/developers
• Troubleshoot system issues
• Deploy custom applications
• Provide off hour support on a rotating basis.
• Determine what tasks are required to complete assignments, establish their priorities, and estimate completion dates.
• Communicate with business units to set priorities, provide feedback of the status of tasks being performed, and to confirm scope and relevancy of the remaining work.
• Inform management and all affected parties about potential or existing issues that may impact schedules and/or deliverables as soon as those issues arise.
• When necessary, adjust priorities to ensure that estimated completion dates are attained and established deadlines are met.
• Apprise management and other stakeholders of deviations from originally agreed upon priorities, deadlines, or scope in a timely manner.
Additional Comments Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Experience with two or more of the following skills:
o Experience working directly with business units to define and document business requirements and specifications. (3 months to 1 year)
o Determine software solution meets customer’s needs. (3 months to 1 year)
o Develop test conditions and validate testing (3 months to 1 year)
o Install and configure server software (3 months to 1 year)
o Diagnose and resolve server software problems (3 months to 1 year)
o Test and evaluate new computer software, hardware or peripheral equipment (3 months to 1 year)
o Diagnose and troubleshoot computer problems with one or more of the following:
Operating systems, software packages, database connectivity, basic hardware issues, network issues, security and or password problems (3 months to 1 year)
• Experience with one or more of the following software:
Electronic Document Management - FileNet Administration, Database - MS SQL Server, Database Oracle, Operating System - UNIX or Operating System - Linux (3 months to
1 year)
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to effectively work in a demanding environment with multiple priorities and customers.
• Ability to evaluate written materials and to perform analysis and design.
• Ability to interact with both technical and business staff.
• Ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
