70.1 TRANSFER QUALIFICATIONS:
One year of permanent competitive service in an appropriate title allocated to Grade 5 or higher may qualify for transfer pursuant to Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.

Please note that Keyboarding proficiency is a minimum requirement of this position. Candidates who have not previously held a keyboarding title must pass a 5-minute typing session and must achieve a speed of 30 words per minute (WPM) with at least 96% accuracy in order to meet the NYS DCS keyboarding standard.
Duties Description STANDARD DUTIES:
Incumbents format and type correspondence, reports, forms, charts, and other materials to produce final copy that is accurate and grammatically correct. This work is carried out under varying conditions of direction and availability of guidelines and by the skilled use of a computer utilizing a variety of software packages, and typewriters. Incumbents may also order supplies and answer phones. They may also act as a personal secretary to a program specialist or administrator. Incumbent must be proficient in all Microsoft applications.
