Minimum Qualifications Current Department of Health (DOH) employee with permanent or contingent-permanent status as a Medical Assistance Specialist 1; OR current NYS employee with one year or more of permanent or contingent-permanent, competitive service in a title eligible to transfer under Section 52.6, Section 70.1, or Section 70.4 of the Civil Service Law to a Medical Assistance Specialist 1. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of the eligibility requirements for New York’s Medicaid, Child Health Plus, and Essential Plan programs, and experience with data systems including, but not limited to, NY State of Health and eMedNY; expertise in health insurance programs and operations, including eligibility and coverage policy issues; ability to research and analyze information; ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines; strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal and organizational skills; and supervisory experience.

Duties Description Within the Division of Eligibility and Marketplace Integration, Bureau of Exchange Application Support, the MAS 1 will review and resolve NY State of Health eligibility and enrollment complaints and referrals sent to the Bureau. This work may include, but not limited to: researching Marketplace and Medicaid policies and procedures, updating Marketplace accounts to re-determine eligibility, contacting Marketplace members, and developing written responses to inquiries.
