Minimum Qualifications A current New York State employee eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.

Duties Description Under the general direction of the Executive Deputy Director, the incumbent will assist the agency’s Freedom of Information Law (FOIL) officer and ensure compliance with Gaming Commission policies and procedures. Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Review FOIL requests, gather requested materials, and forward materials to requestors in a timely manner.
• Assist the FOIL officer in determining whether information can be released to the public and if necessary, making redactions and/or omissions from the records in accordance with FOIL.
• Provide support to the agency on all matters pertaining to the Personal Privacy Protection Law to ensure the safeguarding of confidential information. Provide constructive input in decisions where the agency must balance the need for public transparency and personal privacy.
• Organize and maintain required hardcopy and electronic files of documents released through FOIL.
• Maintain a log of all FOIL requests, including the nature of the requests, along with the resulting responses and outcomes and required timeframe of each request.

Additional duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Assist the Executive Office in tracking and review of legislation impacting the Commission.
• Conduct research under the direction of Executive staff.
• Provide review and analysis of Commission policies and procedures.

Additional Comments Appointment will be contingent upon completion of a fingerprint background check before an official appointment offer can be made.
