Salary RangeFrom $56604 to $71980 Annually
Minimum Qualifications CURRENT NEW YORK STATE EMPLOYEE with a minimum of one year of permanent or contingent-permanent service as a Management Specialist 1, G-18, or in a title allocated to G-16 or above and eligible to transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law OR in a title eligible to transfer to Management Specialist Trainee 1 or Management Specialist Trainee 2 under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.
The position may also be filled at the trainee level by appointment of a candidate reachable on the PATT or PCO list. If filled as a trainee, the selected candidate must successfully complete a two-year traineeship.
Duties Description Reporting directly to an audit supervisor, the Management Specialist 1 uses databases and software programs available for Medicaid research, including SQL Developer and eMedNY, to aid in the development of Medicaid managed care audits; analyzes data and makes well-reasoned determinations in connection with match-based audits relating to Multiple CIN and other retroactive disenrollment scenarios; learns and applies Medicaid policy, regulations, and Medicaid managed care contracts to audits; will assist in the preparation of audit reports; strong written and verbal communication skills are required; organizes mail-out recovery projects, including monitoring and evaluating responses from providers, updating relevant audit-tracking systems, and documenting any adjustments as necessary; conducts research into existing and emerging trends in Medicaid managed care, including Value Based Payments; works well independently and as part of a team; demonstrates strong critical thinking skills, the ability to multitask, attention to detail, and excellent interpersonal skills.
Additional Comments Preferred Qualifications: Background in Medicaid managed care, proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, and knowledge of, or willingness to learn, Structured Query Language (SQL).
