Salary RangeFrom $36051 to $44311 Annually
Minimum Qualifications PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
• Working knowledge of safety standards and procedures.
• Working knowledge of the methods, materials, tools and equipment used in the trades assigned.
• Knowledge of applicable residential building codes.
• Knowledge in reading and interpretation of plans
• Candidate will be trained in the operation and maintenance procedures as related to Asbestos Containing Materials.
• Basic computer skills preferred.
• Valid NYS Driver’s License.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Two years of experience in maintenance or mechanical work under the supervision of a skilled trades worker or completion of an appropriate two-year technical school course.
Duties Description POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Working under the general supervision of a journeyman level tradesman, performs semi-skilled maintenance and repair work on structures and equipment in any number of skilled labor trades, including but not limited to carpentry, plumbing, painting, masonry and electrical. May perform grounds and snow and ice removal as assigned. May be working in community homes and or secured settings on main campus.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Plan, and lay out construction, repair and maintenance projects.
• Performs routine replacement of plumbing items, as instructed by a supervisor
• Performs semi-skilled carpentry projects to include, door repairs, floor tile repairs and installation.
• Assists in painting and prep work as may be required.
• May perform routine tasks in the electrical trade as may be asked, to include but not limited to lighting installations, switches and receptacles.
• May perform semi-skilled masonry repairs and installations.
• Performs maintenance, and preventative maintenance on mechanical equipment including but not limited to bathroom exhaust fans, clothes dryers, sump pumps and generators.
• Requires daily travel within the district.
• May require some travel within NY State to assist other districts with special projects.
• Candidate will be trained in the operation and maintenance procedures as related to Asbestos Containing Materials.
• Escort of outside vendors and contractors in campus setting.
• Work schedule may vary based on operational need.
• Other duties as assigned.
