Minimum Qualifications Candidate must be currently employed by OPWDD as follows:
Developmental Assistant Trainee: One year of permanent or contingent/permanent service as a Direct Support Assistant OR Licensed Practical Nurse and be eligible for 70.1 transfer OR be currently serving in the title of Developmental Assistant Trainee OR be reachable for appointment from the Civil service list.

Developmental Assistant 1: One year of permanent or contingent/permanent service as a Developmental Assistant Trainee OR presently employed as a Developmental Assistant 1.

Duties Description The incumbent will supervise Direct Support Assistants and trainees in the care, treatment, and habilitation services of the individuals we serve. The Developmental Assistant 1 will observe staff carrying out assignments to ensure that instructions/guidelines are adhered to. The Developmental Assistant 1 will meet with staff individually or as a group to discuss observations, deficiencies, job performance strengths and weaknesses, suggestions for improvement and follow up as appropriate. The Developmental Assistant 1 will evaluate and schedule staff training sessions as mandated; the Developmental Assistant 1 will ensure a safe and healthy environment for both staff and individuals in their care. Will perform tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
