Minimum Qualifications Must be in good physical condition. Must possess a motor vehicle operator's license and have completed either:
(A) a one year course at a ranger school, or similar learning institution, in a park or natural resource management, law enforcement or similar curriculum; or
(B) one season (6 months minimum) of recreation facility experience involving contact with the public or in the enforcement of laws, rules and regulations; or
(C) one year of working or interacting with the public in a recreational facility; or
(D) one year of environmental experience in a remote wilderness setting; or
(E) have six months work experience in law enforcement, security services employment, military service or similar experience actively involved with public contact or in the enforcement of laws, policies, and rules and regulations; or
(F) have completed at least 15 college credit hours in criminal justice or similar course work.
Duties Description Patrol assigned areas; enforce rules and regulations defined in the Park Ranger Manual; inspect campground facilities and equipment and report any hazards and deficient conditions; when necessary, contact law enforcement for assistance to control or stop illegal, destructive or unsafe activities; prepare reports and maintain records of daily activities, public use, maintenance needs and law enforcement; keep supervisors informed of activities in facility and assist law enforcement at the scene of emergencies and other incidents. May be required to greet campers; operate computer for registering campers; be responsible for camping permits and revenue accounting; provide public with information, literature and answer questions about facility and surroundings. Must be able to speak and communicate clearly with others, i.e., campers, subordinates and supervisors.
Additional Comments Schedule is Friday-Saturday nights; Sundays on holiday weekends. May 18 - September 3, 2018
