Minimum Qualifications Two years of experience in maintenance or mechanical work under the supervision of a skilled trades-worker or completion of an appropriate two-year technical school course.
Duties Description Will be required to perform maintenance work at various locations including campgrounds, boat launch sites, maintenance centers, Regional Offices and State Forests. Must be able to work with & supervise inmate crews when completing assigned job assignments. Will be required to supervise one or more personnel in completing route job assignments. Will be required to complete lean-tos from cedar logs using various hand & power tools needed to complete the job. Must be willing to stay overnight in the back country when required. Must be chain saw certified and complete all other necessary trainings to keep this up to date, that are required. Must be able to organize, oversee and supervise projects to completion, working with large volunteer groups.
Additional Comments Must have valid driver's license or demonstrate the ability to meet the transportation needs of the position. Must be able to negotiate difficult terrain and work in remote areas and adverse weather conditions. Travel and overtime may be required. Weekends and holidays may be required. Must have a valid Class B CDL within 6 months of appointment with appropriate endorsements. Must be able to lift and move objects up to 75 pounds.
This is a temporary position with a duration of 6/1/18 through 3/31/19.
