Minimum Qualifications One year of permanent service as a Human Resource Specialist 1, SG-18, or transfer eligible candidates under section 52.6 or 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.



Duties Description The incumbent will provide Human Resource and Training functions.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Involved in all phases of recruitment, classification, and exam planning;
• Prepare orientation packets and assist with orientation presentations via phone, in-person, or via video conferencing;
• Submit payroll transactions in the BSC HCM system and reconcile problems;
• Act as a liaison with the BSC Personnel, Payroll, Time & Attendance, and Benefits Units and Civil Service Staffing Representatives, and various other state agencies and other entities;
• Track probation reports and performance programs and evaluation reports in database and send notices to supervisors monthly to remind of upcoming report due dates;
• Run NYSTEP and PayServ reports for management;
• Prepare correspondence for appointments, probationary periods, trainee advances, etc.;
• Track FMLA absences and inform supervisors of updates related to absences and return to work;
• Other HR or Training functions as assigned.
