Minimum Qualifications -Must possess two years of experience in maintenance or mechanical work under the supervision of a skilled trades person or completion of an appropriate two year technical school course.

-Must have and maintain a valid motor vehicle operators license.

Duties Description -This position is focused solely on the management of campground operations.
-Expect to perform daily campground maintenance functions (such as lifting garbage cans chest high, using rakes, shovels, push/riding lawn mowers, recycle center up keep and cleaning toilets).
-Will be required to enforce campsite rules and regulations.
-May be called on to answer routine questions of park patrons and need to provide customer service that will enhance the public’s stay at facility.
-Must be even tempered and capable of communicating with the public as well as subordinates.
-Will be required to handle and account for money and complete necessary closeout Revenue Reports. Must be capable of operating a personal computer to register campers.
-Must be able and willing to supervise 3 or more persons (including: Front Booth, Maintenance, Park Rangers, Lifeguards) during absence of the Facility Supervisor, or at the direction of the CRFS.
- Must ensure that LATS (employee pay roll system) is submitted/approved by the Friday following end of the pay period.
-In the absence of the Facility Supervisor, will be responsible for correct completion of camping permits, revenue reports, subordinate job assignments / completions, and camper registration/site assignments.
-Must understand and comply with all directives within the NYS DEC Campground Operations Manual and department policies at all times.
-Will be required to supervise all tasks and insure they are conducted in a safe manner, with any injuries/illnesses reported immediately to supervisor.
-May be required to stay at the campground overnight during the absence of the CRFS, as directed by the CRFS.
-Will preform a variety of semiskilled carpentry, painting, electrical, plumbing, roofing, masonry and related work in maintaining, repairing and constructing a wide variety of park structures, roads and other facilities.
-Will operate and perform such preventative maintenance as lubrication and making of minor adjustments on a variety of power-driven mechanical equipment including trucks, tractors, mowers, power saws and like equipment.
-May be required to operate dump trucks, tractors, heavy equipment, if your license class is appropriate for that type of vehicle.

Additional Comments Must have valid driver's license or demonstrate the ability to meet the transportation needs of the position. Must be able to negotiate difficult terrain and work in remote areas and adverse weather conditions. Overtime may be required. Weekends and holidays may be required. Must be available for emergency response. Must be available to respond to after-hours emergencies. Must be able to lift and move objects up to 30 pounds.

Positions available at multiple sites throughout the Adirondack Park.

This is a temporary appointment with a duration of 04/30/18 - 10/15/18.
