TRANSFER QUALIFICATIONS: One year of permanent competitive service in an appropriate title allocated to Grade 7 or higher may qualify for transfer pursuant to Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law. Eligible titles include, but are not limited to: Office Assistant 2, Grade 9; Office Assistant 2 Customer Service, Grade 9; and Office Assistant 2 Calculations, Grade 9.

Section 55-B/C: NYS employees with one year of permanent non-competitive service pursuant to Section 55-b/c of the Civil Service Law, may be eligible for a new 55-b/c appointment to this position if they meet the technical requirements for transfer pursuant to Civil Service Law ยง70.1 as stated above.
Duties Description STANDARD DUTIES:
As a Senior Employment Security Clerk in the Personnel Bureau, you would perform paraprofessional activities and assist staff in projects that involve some independent preparation of written materials and reports, maintaining databases, analysis of information, presenting information and formulating recommendations.
You will assist the List Unit by performing duties related to preparing job posting announcements; creating, sending, tracking, and coding canvass letters and applicant resumes internally and in the Civil Service database; preparing job posting responses for Human Resource Specialists; responding to routine recruitment and on-boarding questions from employees and referring more complex staffing or recruitment issues and questions to Human Resource Specialists. You will also assist with other office duties as assigned.
