Minimum Qualifications Candidates must have one year of permanent competitive service or 55 b/c service as Human Resources Specialist
OR
in an approved administrative title within two salary grades of a grade 18
Duties Description Under policy direction and guidelines, assist in the administration of the employee relations program.
• Interprets terms of negotiated contracts to various agency personnel to ensure uniform understanding.
• Monitors the timely processing of grievances in accordance with established schedules.
• Conducts or supervises the conduct of pertinent background and factual data gathering on individual grievances and disciplinary matters.
• Submits recommendations as appropriate.
• May interview employee and supervisor concerned to assist in resolving grievances at the lowest possible level.
• May hear formal grievances and conduct disciplinary meetings summarizing the pertinent data and recommending solutions to management.
• Assist in the development of labor relations training for agency managers and supervisors.
• Assist with preparing cases for arbitration and the administration and tracking of the Workplace Violence Program (travel varies from 10% to 15% of the time).
• Assist in the preparation of disciplinary cases related to abuse and neglect and assist in assuring compliance with the Workplace Violence legislation and all of the reporting requirements associated with the legislation.
• Prepares various personnel reports and related correspondence.
