REASSIGNMENT QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates with one year permanent competitive service in a permanent LSR (Spanish Language) traineeship may be eligible for reassignment. Candidates with less than one year competitive service in a permanent LSR (Spanish Language) traineeship may be eligible for reassignment IF their score would be reachable in the location of the position.
Section 70.1 Transfer:
Candidates with one year permanent competitive service or the completion of a permanent traineeship in one of the following titles may qualify for Transfer to Labor Services Representative Trainee 1 (Spanish Language), eq. Grade 13 if you also pass a Civil Service language exam as described above:

Section 70.4 Transfer:
Candidates with one year permanent competitive service as a Grade 11 or higher, who have a bachelor’s degree*, and who have taken and passed the most recent examination for Labor Services Representative Spanish Language, Trainee 1, may qualify for transfer to Labor Services Representative Trainee 1 Spanish Language, eq. Grade 13 if you also pass a Civil Service language exam as described above.
*From a regionally accredited college or university, or one recognized by the New York State Education Department as following acceptable education practices.
Hourly LSR’s are not eligible for transfer or reassignment.
Conditions of Employment: To be considered for appointment you will be required to pass a Civil Service language exam to demonstrate proficiency in speaking, writing, and reading
Spanish at a level that will ensure your ability to perform the duties of the position.
Duties Description STANDARD DUTIES:
As a Labor Services Representative (Spanish Language), you would assist customers and provide a broad range of services to jobseekers and employers both on an individual basis and through group presentations. You would interview customers to evaluate the nature of services desired, obtaining a complete work history including job experience, education, skills, salary ranges and job preferences. You would identify barriers to employment and develop solutions to these barriers. You would provide information on resources available through the Department of Labor. You would provide these services to both English and Spanish speaking customers.

Position specific job duties may include occasional altered work schedule or job assignments which require availability and willingness to work occasional evenings and or out-stationed assignments
