Duties Description Under the direction and guidance of higher level Human Resources Specialists, the candidate for this position will:
Advise managers and staff in the application of contract provisions, policies, guidelines and applicable laws concerning discipline, grievance procedures and attendance and leave matters.
Make recommendations to managers regarding counseling and progressive discipline.
Administer various aspects of the grievance process including conducting Agency level/Step 2 meetings and writing grievance decisions
Conduct investigations, interrogations, draft investigative summaries, prepare Notices of Discipline and negotiate settlements when applicable.
Represent the agency at grievance, time and attendance and disciplinary hearings and/or arbitrations and prepare written responses on behalf of the agency as appropriate.
Participate in statewide Labor/Management Committee meetings.
Confer with the Governor's Office of Employee Relations and other control agencies as needed.
Other duties and special projects as assigned.
Additional Comments Must have valid driver’s license or demonstrate the ability to meet the transportation needs of the position. Travel, overtime, and overnight may be required.
