Minimum Qualifications Current New York State employee with one year of permanent or contingent-permanent status as an Administrative Assistant, OR NYS employee with one year or more of permanent or contingent-permanent service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law. The position may also be filled at the trainee level by appointment of a candidate reachable on the PATT or PCO list or in a title eligible to transfer to Administrative Assistant Trainee 1 or 2. If filled as a trainee, the selected candidate must successfully complete a two-year traineeship.

Duties Description The duties of this position will include, but not be limited to the following:
• Answer telephone; respond to questions concerning policy or procedures; and refer calls to appropriate staff for very technical information;
• Monitor and track status of program activities;
• Prepare responses to letters concerning program, policies and procedures for own or supervisor’s signature;
• Collect and analyze statistics and information for reporting purposes;
• Prepare charts, spreadsheets and reports to support investigative plans and operations;
• Maintain electronic files, databases, tracking systems and other organization systems;
• Assist investigative staff with scheduling appointments, arranging meeting space, preparing reports and other documents; and
• Act as Human Resources Liaison.
