*Once the “List/pool” of employees working in the Care Pilot has been established, the individual(s) receiving care for services offered in the Care Pilot will select the employee he/she would like to receive care from regardless of seniority of staff in the pool. The remaining selected employees in the pool will be placed on a “Relief Staff List” in seniority order.

Duties Description The Office for People With Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD), in conjunction with CSEA, is offering alternative types of Care Pilot Projects at DDSOOs in an attempt to offer new options for state-operated services for our individuals.
Staff who bid in to this position will be assigned to the Pilot in their current item. Staff will maintain their current salary, negotiating unit.
This particular pilot will not be subject to local bidding agreements.
Description of Pilot:
Pathway to Employment is a new waiver service that assists an individual to develop pre-employment skills needed for successful employment. The service is time limited for up to one year for each individual served. The Program Pilot requires flexible hours on the part of staff assigned to this pilot in order to meet the needs of the individuals and families at times during the day and week when providing Pathways to Employment services and supervision as needed.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
• Provide support to an individual in obtaining employment.
• Canvass local businesses for potential employment or volunteer opportunities.
• Represent the agency in community settings.
• Attend ISP meetings.
• Interview of person and their natural supports.
• Completion of written Pathways to Employment documentation.
• Work flexible hours to meet the needs of the individual and their work schedules when supports are needed.
• Documents daily interactions.
• When not assigned to an individual in the pilot, the DSA will be assigned to assist in State-Operated Group Homes and/or Day Habilitation Programs.
• Travel is mandatory. Staff would be expected to use a state vehicle if one is available. Otherwise, mileage will be reimbursed per OSC Travel Guidelines
• Training will be provided before assuming the duties of Pathways to Employment.
