Minimum Qualifications Six years of experience in public relations, development, marketing, special events, and/or sales. An Associate's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field may substitute for two years of this experience; a Bachelor's degree in one of those fields may substitute for up to four years of experience.

• Demonstrated networking skills and ability to build long-term relationships. Ideal candidate would have working knowledge and professional contacts within the local business, education, government, and healthcare community.

• Strong verbal and written communications skills; Experience writing persuasive, articulate copy for sales, promotions, and social media. Experience with digital communications and/or graphic design preferred but not required.

Duties Description Under the supervision of the Development & Marketing Manager, the Coordinator is a networking enthusiast who will represent the interests of the Empire State Plaza in the business community and be responsible for developing sponsorship programs aimed at generating revenue and increasing public/private partnerships intended to promote Empire State Plaza amenities and events. Events include the NYS Holiday Tree Lighting, NYS Food Festival, Capital Concert Series, Kids Day, Black Arts and Cultural Festival and more, such as Summer Stage in Harlem and events at the Empire State Plaza Convention Center and Empire State Plaza Ice Rink. The Coordinator will play a key role in developing engaging entertainment and activities. Additionally, the Coordinator will oversee administrative and financial tasks as related to sponsorship accounts.

Specific duties include, but are not limited to the following:

Develop sponsorship programs; generate revenue, and increase partnerships for expanding event programs at all New York State office buildings including, but not limited to the Empire State Plaza, Empire State Plaza Convention Center, and Summer Stage in Harlem.

Cultivate strong relationships through strategic fundraising, including creative opportunities and effective events. Produce custom sponsorship solicitations for review, outlining guaranteed media, onsite promotional benefits and applicable sponsor fees.

Activate sponsorship campaigns and event logistics including hospitality services, security, parking arrangements, deliveries, etc.

Assist with administrative and financial tasks as related to sponsorship accounts; prepare letters, contracts, and invoices for appropriate signatures as needed.

Maintain the sponsorship database; enter and update information as directed. Develop and distribute post-event sponsorship reports.

Research marketing opportunities for the Convention and Cultural Events Office (CCE) portfolio of events. Assist with implementing plans and meeting deadlines with diverse media sources.

Work with a Public Information Specialist 1 to develop sponsor solicitation material to be included in digital and print sponsor proposals. Assist in the production of collateral marketing publications, assist on the collection and maintenance of season sponsor logos, performer photos, bios, videos, etc.

Work with a Public Information Specialist 1 to prepare social media posts for review and approval. Assist with routine edits on the CCE website as needed.

Perform specific tasks required for the planning and execution of the Summer at the Plaza Series, Winter at the Plaza events, and Summer Stage in Harlem as assigned by the Director.

Perform additional miscellaneous and operational supports tasks as required.

Additional Comments The position is located in Albany, NY. Frequent night and weekend hours will be required. Salary will be commensurate with experience.
