Minimum Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must have either a high school diploma or a High School Equivalency diploma AND a valid NYS driver’s license.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Special consideration will be given to employees who have experience working in a clerical office setting.

Duties Description The New York State Education Department’s Office of Adult Career and Continuing Education Services – Vocational Rehabilitation (ACCES-VR) is seeking applicants for two temporary Support Services Assistant positions in the Brooklyn District Office. The Support Services Assistants will each be responsible for assisting a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor with the following duties: filing including sorting, locating, and returning files; locating information within a file; and data entry in various computer programs as directed by the Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor. The Support Services Assistant will also perform other routine clerical duties (i.e. copying) as assigned. Occasional travel may be required to assist the employee with on-site work.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: These will be temporary, hourly appointments. These appointments are contingent upon the continued employment of the Vocational Rehabilitation Counselors to whom assistance is being provided. Statewide travel may be required.
