Minimum Qualifications Open to New York State Employees:
Transfer – permanent status as an Administrative Officer 2, Grade M1, and eligible for lateral transfer; OR
one year of permanent competitive service as an Administrative Officer 1; OR
be eligible for transfer via Section 52.6 of Civil Service Law. To qualify for Section 52.6 transfer, candidates must have at least one year of permanent competitive service in a title appropriately designated for a Section 52.6 transfer.
Duties Description The Administrative Officer 2 serves as a key advisor to the executive cabinet working in a collaborative and complementary role to the Chairperson and the Executive Director, under the general supervision of the Executive Director. The Administrative Officer 2 utilizes a high degree of independent judgment and discretion in handling a broad range of responsibilities including, but not limited to, budgeting and fiscal management, accounts payable and vouchering, purchasing and procurement, personnel and civil service administration, training, internal controls, records management, and telecommunications. The Administrative Officer 2 is the agency liaison with DOB, OSC, DCS, BSC, SFS, OGS, ESD, as well as other agencies, and is responsible for initiating, entering and managing transactions in the required electronic and paper applications. The Administrative Officer 2 directly supervises two staff members and all activities in the administration office.
