Duties Description Under the general supervision of the Manager of IT Operations & Network Services. Responsibilities include the day-to-day tactical oversight of the IT Network Services team. The incumbent will oversee staff and coordinate IT operational and/or project related efforts to ensure that all OAG networking and unified communication (VOIP and video conference) adhere to best practices associated with the documenting, managing and securing of these systems. The role ensures proper planning, reporting and progress for IT Network Services projects. Under the general direction of IT Management, the incumbent will provide leadership and technical expertise to ensure the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of OAG information technology assets. This position requires a thorough understanding of complex business structures and processes, best practices for appropriate enterprise architecture, network infrastructure and information governance approaches.

The IT Network Services team is responsible for managing the department's communication infrastructure. Ability to work independently with a focus for quality and attention to details in order to meet deadlines. Works directly with IT Management in support of the following responsibility:

• Assign work to subordinate supervisors. Monitor project progress, review major staff initiatives, and makes recommends as appropriate. Writes progress reports for IT management that describes project status including the technical, fiscal, and staffing issues associated with project completion.
• Develop procedures, standards and internal controls for the conduct of work within IT Network Services. Coordinate with the Chief Information Security Officer to insure compliance with security policies. Monitor compliance and take appropriate action as needed.
• Develop Statement(s) of Work and RFP(s) as needed. Monitor vendor compliance with contracts for services. Review results from mini-bids; RFP, etc.
• Prepare incident reports, if data communication or phone service is interrupted.
• Communication and Collaboration skills need for meetings. IT Change Control representative for the Networking Services Team. Review networking team’s change control forms before they are submitted to Section Heads. Attend weekly change control meetings.
• Assist management with budgeting, staffing and purchasing for the IT Network Services Team.
• Identify technology opportunities to better leverage system features and capabilities;
• Define scope and objectives of projects for IT Network Services. Confirm that project schedules are up to date and complete. Update Project Portfolio to report project status.
• Prioritize work during crisis situations. Analyze situation and present a solution for approval. Manage and automate system reporting and proactive alerting for Networking. Write scripts and programs as necessary to send alerts, automate routine tasks, provide better responsiveness and eliminate redundancy as necessary.
• Manage, configure and support data communication infrastructure (including switches, routers, DNS, Splunk, WebSense, VOIP, Video Conference). Work with vendors and staff on troubleshooting both hardware and software.
• Advanced Network Troubleshooting. Data Center consolidation. Assist with load balancing testing on our public and private web sites.
• Recommend enterprise-class solutions backed by accepted industry standards and technologies.
• Participate in hardware and software upgrades, reallocation of resources and migration of data as required. Apply patches as needed or as part of routine maintenance. Supervise hardware replacement of faulty components with regard to availability and security.
• Assist in Disaster recovery and high availability planning.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation regarding network configurations, operating procedures, and service records. (ex. Visio drawings, Excel spreadsheet, Word documents, etc);
• Manage cross training of technical staff to follow proper operating procedures necessary to maintain the integrity of the network and the technologies involved;
• Supervision and delegation of tasks to IT Network staff and contractors. Perform the full range of supervisory duties. Perform Annual & Semi Annual performance evaluations for subordinates. Mentor team on network related experiences.
• Additional duties as assigned.
