Minimum Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• In title Principal Psychologist, Grade 27

- OR –
• Eligible for a 70.1 transfer by way of current permanent status in a title deemed comparable to Principal Psychologist by the Department of Civil Service (must also be within 2 salary grades of grade 27)

Duties Description PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the direction of the Chief Psychologist, M-4, at Capital District Region 3 the Principal Psychologist, M-2 clinically supervises and manages the activities of the Master’s level psychologists at Capital District DDSO, along with the Chief Psychologist and teams. The incumbent also provides the full range of psychological services, training, and consultation services as needed.

Provides clinical supervision for the Capital District Region 3 Psychologists

• Convenes meetings of agency psychologists to discuss issues related to the discipline
• Provides technical assistance and direction
• Conducts evaluations as required by Licensed Psychologists
• Participates in various committees, such as Behavior Review, etc.
Other duties as assigned

Provides consultation and assistance to operations and regional service teams

• Samples and reviews management of cases, assignments, case problems, issues and methods of treatment by treatment team staff

• Consults with managers regarding issues specific to state operations, voluntary provider issues or matters related to local government or to other local entities




Assesses the need and conducts training

• Participates in planning and assessing training needs
• Provides training as needed

Provides High Risk Services

• Conducts forensic evaluations, including competency and risk
• Attends court proceedings and testifies as needed

Performs Eligibility Reviews

• Assists with the completion of second step eligibility reviews
• Completes guardianship assessments and documentation

Performs Administrative Tasks
• Serves as Administrator on Duty
• Assists in tracking behavioral data
• Other tasks as needed

Additional Comments ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
