Minimum Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Promotion: One year of permanent service as an Occupational Therapist. Open Competitive: License to practice Occupational therapy and two years of post-licensing Occupational therapy experience. A Master’s Degree in Occupational therapy may be substituted for one year of the experience.

Duties Description POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The MLW/DEC is committed to providing high quality, independent and unbiased services to families whose young children are at risk or have developmental disabilities in a timely fashion. These services include comprehensive developmental screenings, child-specific consultations and professional training within the larger community. Services reflect current expertise in the field and are delivered in a family-oriented fashion, utilizing a transdisciplinary model. The DEC believes that children and families are served best when each staff member is supported professionally and emotionally to enhance their contribution to the overall work of the agency. In addition, the DEC believes in being an active contributing member of the professional community.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

As a Senior Occupational Therapist, you would provide comprehensive Occupational Therapy services to individuals with Developmental Disabilities on assigned caseload, ensuring they receive OT related care and equipment, and are safe in their program and home environments. Duties include but are not limited to:
• Performs Occupational Therapy-related assessments
• Development of OT-related plans for individuals to be carried out by trained staff
• Training of agency staff in implementation of OT-related plans, routines, etc.
• Provision of direct OT services as needed based on an Evidence-Based Practice approach
• Facilitation of Community-Based OT services for individuals
• Durable Medical Equipment (DME) and Environmental Modification (E-Mod) assessment, justification, and acquisition
• Plans, carries out, and supervises occupational therapy as a member of an interdisciplinary treatment team or as a clinical supervisor

SELECTION CRITERIA:
• Ability to function as a member of the interdisciplinary treatment team relating to professional, para-professional and direct care staff.
• Ability to communicate in a thorough, concise, accurate and professional manner both verbally and in writing.
• Training/public speaking experience.
• Possess an acceptable time and attendance record as specified in the time and attendance policy.
• Possess an acceptable work record (E-File)

Additional Comments SHIFT: Tuesday and Thursday 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Thursday 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

OTHER: Must have the ability to adjust work hours to meet the operational/supervisory needs of the organization in accordance with Article 32 of the PS&T Contract.
