Minimum Qualifications Candidates for the position listed above must currently be serving in the title of Direct Support Assistant in Metro New York DDSO. Current certification in SCIP, AMAP, CPR and First Aid is preferred. Driver license required.

Duties Description Assists, trains, and supervises Individuals in a self-care and performance of housekeeping tasks such as cleaning, shopping, food preparation, and household maintenance. Attends to the personal, self-care, and other needs of those Individuals who are unable to take care of themselves. Administers, or assists in the administration of first aid treatment in the event of minor burns, cuts, and abrasions. Assists during workshops, social, cultural events, and day programming. Maintains all appropriate and required files, records, and reports incidents, neighborhood reactions, etc. May also have contact via telephone, letter, or face-to-face conversation with family members, neighbors, community clinicians, and business people.
