Minimum Qualifications Candidates must be reachable on the appropriate Civil Service eligible list, or;

Candidates must have permanently served at least one year in a title designated as appropriate for transfer in accordance with Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law. Transfer eligible titles include but may not be limited to: Office Assistant 2, Office Assistant 2 Calculations and Office Assistant 2 Keyboarding.

Duties Description The incumbent of this position located in the Financial Processing section of the Special Funds group will be responsible for screening and sorting all incoming mail from outside the Board as well as various district office mail receipt sites; entering pay orders in FMIS with the appropriate claim, vendor, amount and accounting information; recording check receipts and generating transmittals for assigned individual accounts using MS Access; depositing checks remotely for all bank accounts, using Bank of America CashPro; preparing and delivering manual bank deposits of money orders; communicating with payers or other agencies for information regarding checks to ensure they are deposited correctly; entering and applying deposits into MS Access and FMIS/PeopleSoft; performing maintenance in MS Access to divide payments combined onto a single check; performing accounts receivable maintenance in FMIS/PeopleSoft, such as matching, write offs or transfers; correcting posting/external errors in the FMIS/PeopleSoft system for assigned individual accounts; and assisting other sections within the Special Funds group with tasks or backlogs as needed.
