Minimum Qualifications 52.6 Transfer Qualifications: This position is designated administrative under Section 52.6 of the Civil Service Law and may be filled by administrative transfer under that section. The incumbent must have one year of permanent competitive service in a title M-1 or above designated “Administrative” under Section 52.6 of the Civil Service Law.
Preferred Qualifications: Candidates who meet the 52.6 transfer qualifications and possess extensive research, statistics and/or economics experience working for a NYS agency are encouraged to apply. Applicants without direct experience in research, statistics and/or economics in an NYS agency will not be considered. All applicants must submit a resume and cover letter, which clearly describes their research, statistics and/or economics experience.
Duties Description Standard Duties: Under the general direction of the Chief of Research and Evaluation, the Program Research Specialist 4 (HSV) will be responsible for managing and directing research in support of the Unemployment Insurance (UI) program. Responsibilities include the production of required federal reports, analysis related to UI benefits and Trust Fund status and research into various UI programs and initiatives.
