Minimum Qualifications To be considered, you must have one year of permanent competitive service as a Contract Management Specialist 2 OR one year of permanent competitive service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 52.6 or 70.1 of the Civil Service Law OR be reachable for appointment from the Contract Management Specialist 2 eligible list.
Duties Description The incumbent is responsible for the supervision and management of the Contract Administration Unit. Specifically, the incumbent: exercises oversight of a wide variety of contracts with significantly differing contract issues; advises DOS program staff in their preparation of agency requests for proposals and competitive awarding of grants; insures that the grant management procedures for each contract are structured in terms of the unique needs and requirements of each particular program; ensures that all contract activities and expenditures are consistent with the original provisions of the grant as well as other laws, rules, and procedures; works with control agencies and DOS executive management to advise and report on various aspects of grant administration and functions as the Agency’s liaison for all federal and some state audit programs; supervises staff in the Contract Administration Unit; and performs other duties, as needed. The incumbent should have strong written and verbal communication skills.
