Minimum Qualifications Requirements

Qualifications
This is a permanent position in the labor class jurisdictional classification. Candidates should be aware that a preferred list, transfer list, placement roster and/or reemployment roster of laid off State employees may be certified against this vacancy by the Department of Civil Service.

Duties Description The State University of New York System Administration is searching for a full-time SUNY Campus Worker, SG-6, for the SUNY Global Center, which is located in Manhattan, New York. The duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

•Assist in the overall maintenance of facility and campus grounds, including sidewalks and other outdoor spaces.
•Shovel snow, apply salt and other ice melts, sweep, rakes, shovel, and/or pick up debris, trash, and other obstructions from these areas.
• Performs various manual labor tasks in support of campus operations.
•Set up equipment for conferences, seminars, and special events.
•Pick up and deliver supplies, furniture, packages, and equipment.
•Assist in building maintenance by performing unskilled and routine maintenance and repair activities.
•Replace light bulbs and tubes, fuses, and faucet washers and gaskets.
•Prepare and paint various surfaces.
•Perform routine maintenance tasks on windows such as replacing broken panes, adjusting slipped panes, glazing and painting sashes, and oiling mechanisms.
•Assembly modular furniture based on written instructions or schematics.
•Operate basic hand and power tools in the performance of unskilled and routine trades tasks.
• Assist in the overall cleaning, care, upkeep, and beautification of campus buildings, grounds, structures, and spaces.
•Empty trash and other waste containers. Clean building facilities, break rooms and restrooms and restock supplies as necessary.
•Wash floors, corridors, stairs and stairwells, walls, partitions, and windows from the inside or outside of buildings, using mops, brushes, detergents, buffers, floor scrubbers, and other cleaning implements.
•Strip and wax floors, vacuum and shampoo carpets, and dust assigned areas using mechanical equipment or manually.
