Minimum Qualifications TRANSFER OPPORTUNITIES:
• Candidate must currently be a Developmental Assistant 2, SG-13, OR eligible for a 70.1 transfer.
PROMOTIONAL OPPORTUNITIES:
• Candidate must currently be reachable on the Civil Service List.
PROVISIONAL APPOINTMENT:
• In the event that there is not a valid eligible list, candidates who meet the qualifications may be qualified for a provisional appointment.
Note: If you are appointed provisionally, you must take the next scheduled Civil service examination and your score must be reachable on the resulting eligible list before you can be permanently appointed. If you do not pass the examination or achieve a reachable score, you may not be retained.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Candidate must be a qualified employee of the New York State Office for People with Developmental Disabilities and have had 12 months of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service as a Developmental Assistant Trainee, Developmental Assistant 1; OR 12 months of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service as a Senior Licensed Practical Nurse.
Duties Description SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• The incumbent will be utilized as a hands-on working supervisor and will be counted as part of the daily direct care staffing minimum.
• Will supervise Direct Care staff in the delivery of services to the individuals, as well as complete administrative duties as assigned.
• Assist with overtime management and complete payroll reports.
• Schedule and participate in fire drills.
• Monitor time and attendance, complete performance evaluation and schedule staff trainings.
• Ensure that IPOPOs, behavior and residential habilitation plans are enacted as written.
• Perform house maintenance inspections and schedule needed repairs.
• Assist with planning and scheduling community inclusion activities, and ensure that all the individuals have an opportunity to participate.
• Complete other duties as delegated by the DA 3 or other supervisory staff.
Please note: The incumbent must have a valid N.Y.S. driver’s license and must be AMAP, SCIP, CPR, and First Aid certified. All staff must have updated certifications and trainings before applying for a posting. Certification obtained from an outside agency will not be accepted.
